Oven grill replacement

oven grill replacement

We’re going to tell you how we replaced an oven grill for our client in Fulham. It’s a tricky task, but it can be done with a few tools and a bit of patience. Let’s get started!

First things first, you’ll need a few tools for the job. Make sure you have a Phillips screwdriver, a flathead screwdriver, and a pair of pliers. And of course, you’ll need your replacement oven grill. Make sure it’s the correct model for your oven — if you’re not sure, check the manufacturer’s guide or the model number on your existing grill.

Safety is key! Before you start, make sure your oven is switched off and unplugged from the mains. If you can’t unplug it, switch off the power at the fuse box. You don’t want any surprises while you’re working.

Now, open the oven door and carefully remove any racks that might be in the way. Next, you’ll need to locate the screws holding the rear cover of the oven in place. These screws are usually at the back of the oven. Use your screwdriver to remove them and take off the rear cover. Once the cover is off, you’ll see the wires connected to the grill element. Before proceeding, take a picture or make a note of where each wire connects, so you know where to attach them later. Use your pliers to carefully disconnect the wires. If they’re a bit stubborn, a gentle wiggle should do the trick.

With the wires disconnected, you can now remove the screws securing the grill element in place. These screws are usually located at the back of the oven. Use your screwdriver to remove them. Once the screws are out, gently pull the grill element towards you to remove it from the oven.

Now, grab your new grill element. Connect the wires to the corresponding terminals—refer to that picture or note you made earlier to make sure you get it right. Once the wires are securely connected, slide the grill element back into place. Use your screwdriver to reattach the screws and secure the element. Don’t forget to reattach the rear cover as well.

With everything secured, it’s time to test the new grill. Plug your oven back in or switch on the power at the fuse box. Turn on the grill setting on your oven and let it heat up. You should see it glowing and heating up evenly. If it’s working properly, you’re all set!
