Restoring the functionality of a faulty front door

Recently, we were called out to fix a front door that was catching on the frame and wouldn’t close properly.

Our first step was to remove the door from its hinges to assess the problem areas. The door frame needed some adjustment, so we used a grinder with a specialised attachment to smooth it out. Next, the door itself required precise trimming, which we did using an electric planer to ensure an exact fit.

In addition, the rain deflector at the bottom of the door was catching on a high threshold. To fix this, we modified the rain deflector with the sander to create the necessary clearance.

Once the adjustments were made, we reinstalled the door then cleaned and lubricated all locks and mechanisms. The result was a door that now opens and closes effortlessly, with no further issues.
